The Invisible Disabilities

Autism is an invisible disability. Why? Because it is a brain difference. A neurodevelopmental difference. Autism is how we perceive the world around us. Each autistic person is different as autism is classed as a ‘spectrum’ difference. What we experience, feel, sense, perceive, think… is internal. Invisible to you. Not to autistic folk. I recorded this YouTube video explaining my invisible disabilities, of which autism is one. I also have fibromyalgia, anxiety, fatigue, pain… If you experience an invisible disability, including autism, the National Access card could be a life safer for you. You can search more at www.invisibledisabilities.com.au

I once had to lie down on the train as my blood pressure dropped. I was not wearing my compression socks. A combination of anxiety with dysautonomia does not mix well. I wish I had this card then. #noneedtoexplain It might save the weird looks from bystanders, as the last thing you want to do when you are not feeling well… sensory overload… etc is explain your disabilities and health conditions!
